Draws (tied games in chess)
When playing a chess tournament every time you win, you get 1 point. If your opponent wins then he/she will get the point. What would we do if there was a draw?
Split the point in half! Each player would receive 1/2 a point.

5 types of ways to draw...
Insufficient material- Not enough pieces to checkmate
Stalemate- When one player is NOT in checkmate and has nowhere to move any of his pieces
3-Fold repetition- You and your opponent make the same exact move three times
50 move rule- When one player has only their king and moves 50 times without getting into checkmate
Agreement- When both players decide that they want a draw

Castling
This is a special move in chess where the king moves two squares towards the rook on either side of the board and the rook hops over the king to go on the opposite side of the king.
This move is used to help protect the king from checkmate.

Kingside castle
When the whole back rank is empty and the king moves two squares toward the CLOSEST rook and the rook moves to the other side of the king.

When the whole back rank is empty and the king moves two squares toward the FARTHEST rook and the rook moves to the other side of the king.
