Subject (Noun) - Example: My dog
Predicate (Verb+) - Example: Runs

My dog runs.
Make it better ---> My tiny, ugly dog awkwardly runs to catch cats.

Compound Sentences have 3 parts:
Simple sentence (Independent Clause)
Conjunction: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so
Simple sentence (Independent Clause)
Example: She likes horses, and he likes snakes.

Compound Sentence
My dog runs but my cat climbs
Make it better ---> My tiny, ugly dog awkwardly runs to catch the cat, but my smart, sneaky cat stealthily climbs up the tree.

Complex Sentences have 3 parts:
1. Simple sentence (Independent Clause): This makes sense by itself.
2. Subordinating conjunction: if, since, as, when, although, while, after, before, until, because. "I SAW A WABUB"
3. Subordinating clause (Dependent Clause): This does NOT makes sense on its own
Example: My dog likes to run until it's dinner time

My dog could catch the cat if he was sneakier.
Make it better: My gargantuan, ugly dog could possibly catch my crazy, black cat if he was sneakier.
YOU CAN SWITCH IT!!!
If her was sneakier, my gargantuan, ugly dog could possibly catch my crazy, black cat.
