According to the Northern Ireland Department of Education, the Empowering School Strategy aims to do the Following:

 Enhance and individualize learners educational experience, helping them to enjoy learning improve their performance, and raise standards. 

 Improve the learners standard in literacy, numeracy and others areas of study.

 Elevate learner’s creativity developing their digital and visual literacies. 

 Personalize learning and teaching and improve arrangements for assessment, record-keeping and reporting.

 Provide learners with an appropriate blend of non- technological and online methods of teaching. 

Help learners develop the skill needed to be economically active in the global knowledge economy. 

Blur the boundary between learning in and out of school, extending the partnership between the school, the home, and the community.
