• We wont use the trapeziod formula in this lesson though.

Half Circle: $A=\frac{\pi r^2}{2}$  

Rectangle:  $A=bh$  

Find both areas and add them together.

Draw a line at y=3

Find the area of the triangle and the area of the rectangle and add them.

Separate into 3 triangles and 1 rectangle

x=-4; x=2 {-2<y<2}, y=-2 {2>x<-4}

Find the area of each shape then add them together.

Find the base

Use the given information to make an equation and solve for x.

This shape is made from a rectangle and a triangle.
