15
What’s New
Read the dialogue, then answer the questions below.
You may also read the dialogue in your module on page 24.
16
Teacher:
Good morning, class! Before we start our lesson, let me ask you a question. Which pastime is better during the community quarantine: playing piko or reading books?
17
Harry:
Ma’am, I would choose to play piko because you will be able to play with your playmates and jumping is fun.
18
Lena:
No! I would like to disagree. It’s not right to go outside, kids are not allowed to go out. I’ve heard from the news that the IATF recommended an age limit who can and cannot go out.
19
The teacher asked Lena to repeat what she said because she delivered it with a soft and calm voice. After repeating, the teacher said, “It was a good point but can I hear from others?”.
20
Mimu:
Yes, Ma’am, I agree with what Lena said. Playing mobile games can also only waste our time. The best thing to do is to read books.
21
After Mimu answered the question, Lloyd disagreed and delivered his stand with an angry face and a louder voice.
22
Lloyd:
Playing piko is better than reading books because we can socialize with our friends.
23
Sana:
No! Lloyd and Harry, I disagree with you two. Reading books is better.
24
Sana stopped for a moment and the teacher with the whole class waited for a detailed stand of Sana.
25
Sana:
In addition, reading books is better because there will be more additional knowledge and it will reduce the exposure to the virus. Also, according to the Covid-19 Task Force in our Barangay, kids are not allowed to go out.
26
The teacher commended Sana and the whole class for giving their great participation.
