  • Money: is a generally accepted means of exchange. It is also give as exchange for goods and

    services.

  • Currency: The type of money spent in a particular country is called its currency. For example, in Nigeria, the currency is

    Naira and

    Kobo.

  • Coin: usually metallic and in the shape of a disc, used as money in everyday

    transactions. In Nigeria, we have:

    N2 coin, and N1 coin

What does it all mean?

Writing words as money means changing

the words that you see into numbers,

using a decimal point.

So... what goes where?

  • Whole Nairas go before the decimal point.

  • Eg four naira and thirty six kobo

  • how many whole naira are there?

  • 4

  • So the 4 goes by the Naira sign, before the decimal point.

  • The kobo go after the decimal, as they are parts of a naira.
