Stem Changing Verbs

Stem Changing Reflexive Verbs

• Some reflexive verbs are stem changing verbs.

• When conjugated there are changes to the stem of the verb.

• However, these do not take place with the nosotros/ nos form of the verb.

Despertarse - To wake up (e-ie

Despertarse- to wake up

Yo - Me despierto

Tu - Te despiertas

El/Ella/Usted - Se despierta

Nosotros - Nos despertamos

Ellos/Ellas/ Ustedes - Se despiertan

Ejemplo: Yo me despierto a las seis de la mañana.

Vestirse - To dress oneself (e-i)

Yo - Me visto

Tu - Te vistes

El/ Ella/ Usted - Se viste

Nosotros - Nos vestimos

Ellos/ Ellas/Ustedes - Se visten

Carlos se viste cada día.

Acostarse - to go to bed (o-ue)

Yo - Me acuesto

Tu - Te acuestas

El/ Ella/ Usted - Se acuesta

Nosotros - Nos acostamos

Ellos/Ellas/ Ustedes - Se acuestan

Ellos se acuestan a los ocho de la noche.

Dormirse - to fall asleep (o-ue)

Yo - Me duermo

Tu - Te duermes

El/ Ella/ Usted - Se duerme

Nosotros - Nos dormimos

Ellos/ Ellas/ Ustedes - Se duermen

Carla y yo nos dormimos en la cama.
