Brief Introduction
Asking saves a lot of guess work. Questioning is an important component of the teaching/learning process and is embedded in quality instruction and strategic thinking. Good questioning skills are part of the artistry of teaching. Wellcrafted questions can assist students in digging deeper for more thoughtful responses. They can allow students to reflect on their own thought processes and to develop the ability to clearly articulate their thinking (Gallagher, Elaine 2015). Questions are used to teach as well as to assess understanding, and thus questioning plays a critical role in the overall success of a discussion.
