What is Rhetoric?

Rhetoric is "The art of persuasion"


According to the Oxford dictionary, rhetoric is: The art of effective or persuasive writing, speaking and language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect on its audience, but often regarded as lacking in sincerity or meaningful content.


In other words...


Rhetoric is the art of knowing what to say at the right time, and in the right way to influence, inform, or provoke someone's thinking to get the outcome that you want.
