When do we use the Present Progressive (PP) tense?/¿Cuándo usamos el tiempo presente progresivo (PP)?
When we want to say what someone is CURRENTLY doing/Cuando queremos decir lo que alguien está haciendo ACTUALMENTE

This is why this verb is called the PRESENT PROGRESSIVE/Por eso este verbo se llama PRESENTE PROGRESIVO

Mrs. B and Mr. L ARE TEACHING English (right now).
I AM PAYING attention in Spanish class (right now).
It IS RAINING outside (right now).

What are the parts of the Present Progressive? /¿Cuáles son las partes del presente progresivo?
Mrs. B and Mr. L are teaching.
I am paying attention.
It is raining.
What do all three of these sentences have in common?/¿Qué tienen en común estas 3 oraciones?
All 3 have a form of "to be" (am, is, are) and a participle (a word that ends in -ing)/Los 3 tienen una forma de "ser" (soy, es, son) y un participio (una palabra que termina en -ing)

Let's put the 2 pieces together to form the present progressive!/¡Juntemos las 2 piezas para formar el presente progresivo!
I am talking = Yo estoy hablando
She is sleeping = Ella está durmiendo
We are waiting = Nosotros estamos esperando
"am + verb+ing" es lo mismo que "estar + verbo + ando/iendo"

EXCEPTIONS!!/EXCEPCIONES!!
For verbs that end in e, remove the e and add ing. Ex: slide > sliding, ride > riding
For verbs that end in ie, change the ie to y and add -ing. Ex: die > dying
For a verb whose last syllable is written with a consonant-vowel-consonant and is stressed, double the last letter before adding ing. Ex: stop > stopping; run > running
Para los verbos que terminan en e, elimine la e y agregue ing. Ej: slide > sliding, riding > riding
Para los verbos que terminan en ie, cambie ie a yy agregue -ing. Ej: die> dying
