To estimate the mean from grouped frequency table we have to ....

  • Look at the groupings and identify the midpoint. For example, if the grouping is 1-10 the midpoint will be 5.5 (1 + 10 = 11, 11 divided by 2 is 5.5)

  • Then multiply the Midpoint by the Frequency

  • Then Divide the Total of the Midpoint x Frequency, by the Frequency total
