At the end of this topic, you will:

Express promises, favors, and future predictions through the use of the modal verb “will” considering your personal experience and thus talk about possibilities in the future.

​Future Simple with "Will"

We can use will to make predictions about the future.

• I will be a doctor.

• He'll travel around the world.

• You won't have any problems.

​How to use it?

​We can contract will, especially when we're speaking:

For example:

• ​I'll live in a big city when I'm older.

• She'll have lots of pets.

• We'll finish high school next year.

​Negative statements

​For negatives, use not. We usually contract will and not to make won't.

For example:​

• We will not drive normal cars. = We won't drive normal cars.

• Children will not go to school in the future. = Children won't go to school in the future.

​Remember!

​Use the infinitive (verb in the simple present) without to after will and won't.

​

For example:​

• My friend will be a firefighter.

• I won't forget my friends when I grow up.

​Interrogative

For questions, change the order of will and the person.​

For example:​

• Will you get married?

• Where will she live?

• What will you do after class?
