Types of circuits

There are 5 Main Types of Electric Circuit – Close Circuit, Open Circuit, Short Circuit, Series Circuit and Parallel Circuit.

3

Series Circuit

An electric circuit connected so that current passes through each circuit element in turn without branching. The definition of a series circuit is an electric circuit in which the electric passes through each circuit element in order. An example of a series circuit is a type of electrical system in a house.

4

Parallel Circuit

hat is a Parallel Circuit A circuit is called a Parallel Circuit when two or more components are connected to the same node and both the sides of the components are connected directly to the battery or any other source. The current in a Parallel-Circuit has two or more paths to flow through it.

5

Short Circuit

(Electronics) a faulty or accidental connection between two points of different potential in an electric circuit, bypassing the load and establishing a path of low resistance through which an excessive current can flow.

6

Open circuit

An open circuit is defined as an electric circuit in which current does not flow. Current can only flow in a circuit if it finds a continuous path—known as a “closed circuit”. If there’s a break anywhere in the circuit, you have an open circuit, and current can not flow. In an open circuit, the two terminals are disconnected.

7

closed circuit

An electric circuit providing an uninterrupted, endless path for the flow of current. A television transmission circuit with a limited number of reception stations and no broadcast facilities.
