Weather

  • Weather is the day-to-day variation of the atmosphere’s condition locally

  •  Climate is the variation of weather conditions over long periods of time, usually years.

Predicting weather

Meteorologists use different instruments to gather information about weather such as-:

1) Anemometer

An instrument which measures wind speed.

2)Wind vane

An instrument used to measure wind direction

3)Rain-gauge

collects and measures the amount of rain that has fallen.

4)Thermometer

used to measure temperature

Northern Hemisphere

-The Northern Hemisphere is the northern half of the Earth (map). It begins at 0° or the equator and continues north until it reaches 90°N latitude or the North Pole.

-It includes all of North America, the northern parts of South America, about two-thirds of Africa, all of Asia excluding parts of Indonesia and all of Europe.

-The Northern Hemisphere encompasses a portion of the Tropics between the Tropic of Cancer and the equator.

-This area is usually hot all year round and has a rainy summer season.

Southern Hemisphere

The Southern Hemisphere is the southern portion or half of the Earth (map). It begins at the equator at 0° and continues south into lower latitudes until it reaches 90°S or the South Pole in the middle of Antarctica.

-The continents making up the Southern Hemisphere include around 1/3 of Africa, all of Antarctica, most of South America and all of Australia.

Polar is the region at the poles and its mostly cold and dry
