  • Millions of houses were built in the Victorian era thanks to the industrial revolution and the consequent housing booms.

  • Victorian house were often made of red bricks. Sometimes the the walls were topped with a triangle that pointed to the sky -a gable

  • Workers houses were usually terraced -built in a joined up row .They were often small and cramped.

  • Houses on the edge of the town were larger and could be three or more stories tall.

  • Some examples of Victorian buildings that are still in use today are such as The Houses of Parliament in London , The Crystal Palace and The Midland Grand hotel
