Do you know what adjectives are?

Adjectives are describing words, they describe a noun.

Types of Adjectives

Adjectives qualify nouns. They say something more about the noun.

Eg: I love brown dogs.

Ram has acted in many plays.

This is my favourite book.

There are 6 types of Adjectives.

• Qualitative Adjectives (Adjectives of Quality)

• Quantitative Adjectives (Adjectives of Quantity)

• Demonstrative Adjectives

• Adjectives of Number

• Interrogative Adjectives

• Possessive Adjectives

Qualitative Adjectives

Qualitative Adjectives describe the quality of the noun.

Eg: Red Rose

Fat Cat

Cute Kitten

Yellow Dress

Quantitative Adjectives

Describes the quantity of the noun.

Eg: Many, Enough, Few, No.

There was no milk in the jar.

I have many friends.

Demonstrative Adjectives

Points out objects. This, That- Singular. These, Those- Plural.

Eg: That wall behind me is green

These girls are my classmates.

Adjectives of Number

No. of a noun.

Eg: Ram is 10 years old.

Possessive Adjectives

Showing ownership.

Eg: Sam is eating his ice-cream.

She is playing with her doll.
