Much and  many

 are quantifiers (quantificadores). 

Much significa muito ou muita e many significa muito(s) ou muita(s).

A palavra "informação", por exemplo, é contável em português e incontável em inglês.

Podemos dizer em português “preciso de duas informações”, mas para expressar a mesma ideia em inglês, devemos dizer “I need two pieces of information.”

Uso de many

A palavra many é usada com substantivos contáveis e significa muito, muitos, muita ou muitas.

Exemplos:

1.They bought many bottles of soft drink for the party. (Eles compraram muitas garrafas de refrigerante para a festa.)

2.There are many kids playing in the yard. (Há muitas crianças brincando no jardim.)

3. Many students prefer to study in the morning. (Muitos alunos preferem estudar de manhã.)

Uso de much

A palavra much é usada com substantivos incontáveis e significa muito ou muita.

Exemplos:

1. She put much water in the jar. (Ela colocou muita água na jarra.)

2. He drinks much coffee when he’s working. (Ele bebe muito café quando está trabalhando.)

3. I don’t have much money. (Eu não tenho muito dinheiro.)

IMPORTANTE: o substantivo usado após a palavra much deve estar sempre no singular.
