Astrophysics

This is a lesson all about space. Go ahead and enjoy. Astrophysics is a branch of space science that applies the laws of physics and chemistry to explain the birth, life and death of stars, planets, galaxies, nebulae and other objects in the universe. It has two sibling sciences, astronomy and cosmology, and the lines between them blur.

Space

Space is the boundless three-dimensional extent in which objects and events have relative position and direction. The concept of space is considered to be of fundamental importance to an understanding of the physical universe.

3

Black Hole

black hole is a region of spacetime where gravity is so strong that nothing—no particles or even electromagnetic radiation such as light—can escape from it.

Extra Information

  • Using data from the Planck space observatory, they found the universe to be approximately 13.8 billion years old.

  • In Hinduism, Lord Brahma is the creator of the universe.

  • Hydrogen is the lightest gas and element and is the most abundant in the universe. It is estimated that 90% of the visible universe is composed of hydrogen.

Continue...

  • Laser beams travel at the speed of light, more than 670 million miles per hour, making them the fastest thing in the universe.

  • Our galaxy is 13.51 billion years

Big ban theory

The Big Bang Theory is the leading explanation about how the universe began. At its simplest, it says the universe as we know it started with an infinitely hot, infinitely dense singularity, then inflated — first at unimaginable speed, and then at a more measurable rate — over the next 13.8 billion years to the cosmos that we know today.
