What is an adverbial clause?

  • It is a dependent clause that has either a preposition, a conjunction or a connector at the beginning of it.

  • It needs an independent clause, but the interesting thing is that the adverbial clause changes the meaning of the sentence depending of the initial word.

  • I'll answer your message as soon as I get the response from the teacher.

  • She can sit wherever she wants.

  • In case you were wondering, I will not attend that meeting.
