EXAMPLE 1

Read the message from your friend, Michael.

Hi,

The river near my house has become so dirty now as some irresponsible residents have been throwing rubbish into it. It has become an eyesore! What should I do to clean the river up? Should I organise a clean-up programme, put up a notice or inform the Department of Environment? I’m looking forward to your reply!

Michael

Hi Michael,

How are you? I hope you are in the pink. I understand that it is an eyesore to see the dirty river everyday. However, I'm sure we can do something to keep the river clean. In my opinion, I think it is a good idea to organise a clean-up programme. When you clean the river with other residents, the difficult task can be done quickly and easily. Besides, put up a notice is also a good idea because you can remind the residents to not throw rubbish into the river. However, it is very efficient if you inform the issue to the Department of Environment as they can act further including give warning and punish the responsible parties. I hope my opinions are helpful. Please write soon! Bye!

PRACTICE 1: ANSWER

Hi Devi,

How are you? I hope you are in the pink. I understand that you are feeling stressed lately and need to de-stress. I am sure we can do something about it. I think it is a good idea to do yoga. It helps you to be more flexible and at the same time, you can find some peace. Besides, it is also a brilliant idea to meditate as a way to de-stress. Your body and mind will feel more relax through meditation. However, I recommend that go for walks will be the best option for you. You can go for walks at shopping complex, parks, etc. This way you can release your tension by doing outside activities.

I hope my opinions are helpful. Please write soon.

Bye!

PRACTICE 2: ANSWER

Hi, Anand.

How are you? I hope you are in the pink. I understand that you are wondering where to go for a holiday. I am here to help you. If you love nature, I recommend Taman Negara for you to visit. It is because you can see a lot of floras and faunas. If you are an adventure lover, you may choose Mount Kinabalu as a holiday destination. There, you can climb the highest mountain in Malaysia. However, I recommend Pulau Redang as the best option for you. The island is perfect for those who enjoy water activities. You can enjoy snorkelling while observing beautiful scenery and colourful marine lifes. That's all for this writing. I hope my opinions are helpful. Please write soon. Bye!
