The bird Dodo

and why did it go extinct?

•The bird Dodo was a flightless bird. It was living in the Mauritius, east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. In the following years, the bird was hunted by sailors and invasive species, while its habitat was being destroyed. The last widely accepted sighting of a dodo was in 1662. Its extinction was not immediately noticed.

• It also went extinct because of low reproduction

• They were hunted by Portuguese sailors for their fresh meat

• The last Dodo bird was killed in 1681
