Types of Journalistic Writing Article

1.  News Article

News is defined as any information about an incident, unusual event,

place, person or pronouncement that is new to certain group of people. A news article discusses current or recent news of either general interest (i.e. daily newspapers) or of a specific topic (i.e. political or trade news magazines, club newsletters, or technology news websites).

A news article can include accounts of eyewitnesses to the happening event. The writer can also give facts and detailed information following answers to general questions like who, what, when, where,

why and how.

Editorial Article

Is an article that states the newspapers ideas on an issue. The editorial

serves as the official view of the paper reflecting many sides of an issue.

Editorials are meant to influence public opinion, promote critical thinking, and sometimes cause people to take action on an issue. In essence, an editorial is an opinionated news story.

 Feature Article

Relates to man’s inner feelings. A feature differs from a news in one aspect- its intent. A feature does a bit more, it interpret news, add depth and flavor to a story. It also instructs or entertains.

Sports Article

It gives the readers the who, what, where, when, why and how of a sports event. It tells the readers the highlights of the games and how the games were won. It has developed and has used vocabularies called sport lingos.

Her hair was sleek and slicked into a big high bun.

         Indeed, the extraordinary beauty Megan possesses made her deserving to be lady who conquered the world’s admiration.
