1. Open your textbook and turn to page 48.

2. Look at the vocabulary given. Lets read the words and try to find the meaning of the words.

1. Garden : Taman

2. Slippers: Selipar

3. Cushion: Kusyen

4. Dining room: Ruang makan

5. Mat: Tikar

6. Wall: Dinding

3. Now, look at the story entitle "The Traditional Japanese house".

4. Listen to the audio given.

5. Then, lets read together.

This is a traditional Japanese house with a garden.

People never wear shoes in Japanese houses. They wear slippers.

There are a lot of paper doors in a Japanese house. There is one big room with mats on the floor and a low table. People sit on cushions. This room is the living room and the dining room, too!

At night, this room becomes the bedroom. They put the table near the walls and make beds on the mats.
