Los Ríos Province

Its name is because It has one of the largest hydrographic networks in the nation

The province was founded on October 6, 1860.

The capital is Babahoyo.

The province is divided into 13 cantons:

Babahoyo, Baba, San Jacinto de Buena Fé, Mocache, Montalvo, Palenque, Puebloviejo, Quevedo, Quinsaloma, Urdaneta, Valencia, Ventanas, Vinces.

Playas del Salto

At 10 minutes from Babahoyo, due to the banks of the Babahoyo River, you can find Playa del Salto.   You can do some Water sports , camping , regattas , boating, hiking , cycling.

Quevedo ZOO

great diversity of fauna resources: monkeys, poultry, foxes, iguanas, cusumbe, guanta, guatusa, chorongo, sheep, cross goats, aquatic birds such as crow duck, parrots, squirrels, weasels, etc.

Río Palenque Scientific Center

This forest was developed as a biological research station in 1970 by the University of Miami.

In 1971, was declared a Protective Forest by the National Government, being one of the last tropical forests on the Ecuadorian coast.

Río Palenque Scientific Center

 1,100 species of vascular plants of various species were identified here, of which 30 are endemic to this forest.

Olmedo´s house (In Babahoyo)

The National Institute of Cultural Heritage, declared the Hacienda La Virginia and the Casa de Olmedo  in charge of the House of Culture of the province of Los Ríos

Abras de Mantequilla Wetland

 It is home to more than 127 species of birds  50 species of bio-aquatic fish, reptiles, iguanas, frogs, 100 species of mammals including badgers, tigrillos, white-tailed deer, howler monkeys , wild cats.  The Abras de Mantequilla Wetland is considered the 1,023rd in the world and the fourth in Ecuador.

Samama-Mumbes Wildlife Refuge , San Jacinto waterfalls , Jauneche Biological Reserve, La Reveza Beach, etc.

Rodeo Montubio: 

It is a popular and traditional national holiday, (october 12th) an event that is usually held every year with the participation of cowboys from several farms mainly from the coast and including the Sierra, where you can enjoy musical shows by more popular artists of the moment and enjoy the typical foods of the province in the surroundings of the square.
