Verb TO BE in the past

Então, se para dizer "Eu estou feliz" em Inglês, eu digo "I AM HAPPY" no presente, no passado fica "I WAS HAPPY." Explore o quadro a seguir e siga para o próximo slide!

Check this out!

Conforme podemos ver no quadro, que traz o adjetivo "busy" = ocupado(a) para ilustrar o contéudo, podemos ver que usamos WAS para todas as pessoas no singular e WERE para YOU e todas as pessoas no plural. Então se quero dizer "Nós estávamos ocupados", eu digo em inglês "We WERE busy", como vemos na imagem ao lado.

4

Além disso...

Para a forma negativa, basta acrescentar a partícula NOT após o verbo TO BE.

5

Já na forma Interrogativa....

Como sempre é o caso em toda ocorrência do verbo TO BE, para formar a interrogativa, eu inverto a posição do sujeito e do verbo TO BE. Então se afirmando eu digo "YOU WERE BUSY", ou seja, "Você estava ocupado(a)," para perguntar eu digo "WERE YOU BUSY?", que corresponde a "Você estava ocupado(a)?"
