Objective

This activity is a escape room game. Students are supposed to use their text comprehension skills in order to win. The name of this activity is :Where in Brazil is Carmen Sandiego?

Who is Carmen Sandiego?

Carmen is the main character of the game "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego". She is a worldwide known thief who is relentless chased by an international detective agency.

Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?

The game was really popular in late 90s until early 2000s. Gamers basically need to find her based on clues related to Geography, History, Arts, Foreign Languages and so forth. She keeps going back and forth across the globe.

Specific goals

• Carmen Sandiego has stolen a Brazilian artifact and students have to find her asap.

• Students have to make decisions based on the clues given

• Should students make bad/poor decisions, they won't be able to find her or finish the form.

Procedures

• Preferably, assign this activity during synchronous classes

• Then you can help students, if the game form shows any glitch.

• The clues given may lead to Google Earth links, music videos on YouTube and so forth.

Mission accomplished?

• By the end of this activity, students should be able to pay close attention to their own text comprehension skills in order to solve puzzles.

• Students should also be able to connect the things they have read during the game to other subjects like arts and geography.
