Would rather

• Example 1: I would rather listen to pop music than rock

• Example 2: I would rather not have any salad in my breakfast

• Would rather = Lebih suka

• ..... would rather/would rather not ..... than

• Sam WOULD RATHER walk to school THAN go by bus

• Sam WOULD RATHER NOT go to school by bus

Had better

• Example 1: You had better ask a doctor about it

• Example 2: You had better not lie to me again

• Had better = lebih baik (guna untuk nasihat, amaran, ancaman)

• You HAD BETTER not use your dad's credit card without asking

• (lebih baik awak jangan guna kad kredit ayah awak tanpa kebenaran)

Should

• Example 1: She should be more careful when she drives

• Example 2: You should go to that new restaurant

• Example 3: You should not come to school late

• Should = patut

• You SHOULD buy this shirt. It's on discount.

• (Awak patut beli baju ini. Ianya ada diskaun)

PRACTICE

Rewrite the sentences using would rather, had better or should

EXAMPLE

• SENTENCE: It's a good idea for you to go shopping during the sales (should)

• REWRITE: You should go shopping during the sales
