Recognising A Subject of A Sentence

A sentence should have at least a subject and a verb

Bentuk-bentuk Subject

• A Noun : The information in the book provides clear explanation

• A pronoun : In the class they studied very hard.

• A clause : “What you did was bad”, Cinta said to Rangga.

• A gerund : Reading is my hobby.

• A gerund phrase : Reading comics is my hobby.

• An infinitive : To write requires special talent

• An infinitive phrase: To write poetry in Latin requires special talent

Subject berada didepan kalimat, namun tidak selalu.

• Last week I studied structure.

• At 8 O’clock my mother cleans our house.

Subject dapat diawali dengan THE/A

• The Walking Dead is my favourite series.

• A man walking with a child stole my mango.

• A study shows that children have short attention span.

Preposisi Diawal Kalimat BUKANLAH Subject

• Preposisi (kata depan) terdiri dari in, at, during, on, under, above, dll

• Kata yang mengikuti preposisi disebut KETERANGAN. Contoh: At the moment I feel save.

• Preposisi dapat muncul diawal kalimat
