Heat- Introduction
In this Lesson, We will learn about->
* What is Heat
* Temperature
* Thermal Equilibrium

2
Heat
What is Heat?
Have you seen the sun? It emits Light. How does it emit its light?
Have you tried touching a lit bulb? You hands feel its hotness, and Thus you remmove it from the bulb
This energy which does work and helps in emitting light is HEAT
The degree of the hotness itself is Temperature.
3
Thermal Equilibrium
Lets say an object A is hotter than Object B
What Happens?
The heat flows from A to B. But later it stops.
Then at that moment, the temperature in Objects A and B are equal
THUS
An object with more heat than another, will result in a flow of heat from the GREATER temperature to the LOWER temperature
If the temperatures of 2 bodies are EQUAL, We say that they are in THERMAL EQUILIBRIUM
4
Meaures of temperatures
There are 3 Measures of temperates
They are: Celsius (°C), Fahrenheit (°F) and Kelvin (K)
KELVIN is the Standard Unit
The Boiling Point of WATER in the measures is: 100 °C, 212 °F & 373 K
The Melting Point of WATER in the measures is: 0 °C, 32 °F & 273 K
