3

Classification of Objects on Amount of Light that can pass through them. on the basis of them.

Objects through which no light can pass are called OPAQUE OBJECTS.

Object through which light can pass completely are called TRANSPERANT OBJECTS.

Objects through which light can pass partially are called TRANSLUCENT OBJECTS.

Reflection of Light

  • Change in the direction of light / bouncing of light when it falls on the surface of an object.

  • It contains -

  • Incident Ray : The ray of light which strikes any surface.

  • Reflected Ray : The ray that comes back from the surface after reflection.

  • Angle of Incidence : The angle between the normal and incident ray.

  • Angle of Reflection : The angle between the normal and reflected ray.

  • Normal : At the point of incidence where the ray strikes the mirror, a line can be drawn perpendicularly to the surface of the mirror.
