  • A digit is a numeral, from 0 to 9, that forms part of a number.

  • In the number 795, there are 3 digits.

  • In the number 26 801, there are 5 digits

Place value: 4 537 982

  • 4 Millions = 4 000 000

  • 5 Hundred Thousands = 500 000

  • 3 Ten Thousands = 30 000

  • 7 Thousands = 7 000

  • 9 Hundreds = 900

  • 8 Tens = 80

  • 2 Ones = 2
