  • By setting goals, you are providing yourself with a target to aim for. A SMART goal is used to help guide goal setting. SMART is an acronym that stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely.

What does a SMART Goal look like?

  • Regular Goal: I'm going to write a book.

  • S - I'm going to write a 60,000-word sci-fi novel.

  • M - I will finish writing 60,000 words in 6 months

  • A - I will Write 2,500 words per week.

  • R - I've always dreamed of becoming a professional writer!

  • T - I will start tomorrow on January 1st, and finish June 30th.
