วิชาอังกฤษ... เรื่องหลักการใช้ and.but,or,so,because

and ใช้เชื่อมคำ วลี หรือประโยค เพื่อแสดงการเพิ่มหรือรวมเข้าด้วยกัน

... but ใช้เชื่อมคำ วลี หรือประโยค เพื่อแสดงการขัดแย้ง or ใช้เชื่อมคำ วลี หรือประโยค เพื่อแสดงการเลือกเอาอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง

... because ใช้เชื่อมเพื่อแสดงเหตุผล (reason)

1. and ใช้เชื่อมคำ วลี หรือประโยค เพื่อแสดงการเพิ่มหรือรวมเข้าด้วยกัน

ตัวยย่าง

1.1 N + and + N(N = Noun)

(i) I saw a cat.

(ii) I saw a mouse.

(i) + (ii) I saw a cat and a mouse.

ฉันเห็นแมวและหนู

1.2 V + and + V (V = Verb)

(i) I opened the door.

(ii) I walked into the room.

(i) + (ii) I opened the door and walked into the room.

ฉันเปิดประตูและเดินเข้าไปในห้อง

1.3 Adj + and + Adj (Adj = Adjective)

(i) The flag is green.

(ii) The flag is black.

(i) + (ii) The flag is green and black.

ธงสีเขียวและดำ

1.4 S + and + S (S = Sentence)

(i) I opened the door.

(ii) She opened the window.

(i) + (ii) I opened the door, and she opened the window.

ฉันเปิดประตู และเธอเปิดหน้าต่าง

2. but ใช้เชื่อมคำ วลี หรือประโยค เพื่อแสดงการขัดแย้ง

2.1 V + but + V

(i) I went to bed.

(ii) I couldn’t sleep.

(i) + (ii) I went to bed but couldn’t sleep.

ฉันเข้านอนแต่นอนไม่หลับ

2.2 S + but + S

(i) He dropped the vase.

(ii) The vase didn’t break.

(i) + (ii) He dropped the vase, but it didn’t break.

เขาทำแจกันหล่น แต่มันไม่แตกตัวอย่าง

3. or ใช้เชื่อมคำ วลี หรือประโยค เพื่อแสดงการเลือกเอาอย่างใดอย่างหนึ่ง

ตัวอย่าง

3.1 Adj + or + Adj

(i) Is a lemon sweet?

(ii) Is a lemon sour?

(i) + (ii) Is a lemon sweet or sour?

มะนาวหวานหรือเปรี้ยว

3.2 V + or + V

(i) I can’t sing.

(ii) I can’t play the guitar.

(i) + (ii) I can’t sing or play the guitar.

ฉันไม่สามารถร้องเพลงหรือเล่นกีต้าร์ได้

3.3 S + or + S

(i) Do we have class on Monday?

(ii) Is Monday a holiday?

(i) + (ii) Do we have class on Monday, or is Monday a holiday?

เรามีชั้นเรียนในวันจันทร์ หรือวันจันทร์เป็นวันหยุดใช่ไหม

4. because ใช้เชื่อมเพื่อแสดงเหตุผล (reason)

ตัวอย่าง

(i) I can’t play tennis.

(ii) My racket is broken.

(i) + (ii) I can’t play tennis because my racket is broken.

ฉันเล่นเทนนิสไม่ได้เพราะว่าไม้ตีหัก

(i) We’re going shopping.

(ii) We haven’t got any food.

(i) + (ii) We’re going shopping because we haven’t got any food.

เราจะไปซื้อของเพราะเราไม่มีอาหารเลย

5. so ใช้เชื่อมเพื่อแสดงผลลัพธ์ (result)

ตัวอย่าง

(i) My racket is broken.

(ii) I can’t play tennis.

(i) + (ii) My racket is broken, so I can’t play” tennis.

ไม้ตีของฉันหัก ดังนั้นฉันจึงไม่สามารถเล่นเทนนิสได้

(i) The room was dark.

(ii) I turned on the light.

(i) + (ii) The room was dark, so I turned on the light.

ห้องมืด ดังนั้นฉันจึงเปิดไฟ
