MAMMALS

Whales are sea living mammals. Some whales are very large indeed and the blue whale, which can exceed 30 meters in length, is the largest animal to have lived down earth.

Superficially, there are important differences in its external structure; its tail consist of a pair of broad, flat horizontal paddles, compare with the tail of a fish that is vertical. The skin is smooth and shiny and beneath it lays a layer of fat.
