Camera Movements & Image Composition
The movements of camera and the arrangements of characters or objects inside the frame.

Panning
A camera movement that sweeps or scans the space horizontally.

Tilting
A camera movement that sweeps or scans the space vertically.

Crane
A camera movement that moves vertically, up or down or across.

Tracking
A camera movement that follows a character in the same direction as them (usually from behind or side).

Reverse Tracking
A camera movement that follows a character in the opposite direction as them (usually from front).

Zoom In
A camera movement that magnifies a subject, making it appear bigger.

Zoom Out
A camera movement that shrinks a subject, making it appear smaller.

Dolly In
A camera movement that moves closer towards a subject.

A camera movement that moves away from a subject.

A camera movement that combines zoom in & dolly out OR zoom out & dolly in, keeping the character the same size while changing the distance of the background.
