The Food Pyramid: grammar
How does this expository text present its suggestions? What type of verbs predominate the most to tell the reader what they should eat? Why/ Why not? Consider this information when writing your paragraphs.
The Pyramid calls for eating a variety of foods to get the nutrients you need and, at the same time, the right amount of calories to maintain or improve your weight. The Food Pyramid emphasizes foods from the five major food groups shown in the three lower sections. Each of these food groups provides some, but not all, of the nutrients you need. Foods in one group cannot replace those in another. No food group is more important than the others – for good health, you need them all.

In the near future, as you study Nouns: quantifiers and articles (Access) practice writing sentences to talk about your eating habits using key vocabulary from this unit, specific quantifiers and appropriate articles!
