What are them?

Prepositions of place are placed after the main verb, which is usually the verb "to be" (to be, to be) in any of the past, present or future tenses and in both its simple and compound forms.

We have already seen the different uses of the three most common prepositions ("in", "at", "on") in the previous lesson. Below you will find other prepositions of place.

Next to (Beside)

Significado: al lado de, junto a.

*The cat is next to (beside) the ball of wool.

*The supermarket is next to (beside) the bank.

Between

Significado: entre

* The girl is between two rocks

*The shop is between the bank and the train station.

*She is standing between Peter and John.

Behind

• Significado: Detrás de...

• The church is behind the school.

In front of VS Opposite

Significado: contrario, en frente de, opuesto, delante de

*La diferencia entre estas preposiciones la notamos cuando estamos hablando de personas: “opposite” significa delante y cara a cara, en cambio “in front of” significa delante de pero no cara a cara.
