​What are Subordinating Conjunctions??

Subordinating Conjunctions are: though, even, although, because, unless, before, until, if, so that, were, when, why, what, while, how, as and since.

​

1. ​Subordinating Conjunctions helps to join dependent clauses with independent clauses.

2. It​ is not mandatory to have the subordinating conjunctions in the middle of the sentence, but it has to be a part of the dependent clause.

​Classification of Subordinating Conjunctions-

1)Time - as soon as, after, before, as, since, while.

​2)Result or Consequence - so and that

3)​Cause / Reason - because, since, as

​4) Condition - unless, if, as long as

​5) Concession/contract - although, even if, though, even though.

​6) Extent / Manner - as

​7) Place - wherever, where

​8) Purpose - that, so that.
