​The 15-metre bronze monument is located in Kuala Lumpur. It was the brain child of Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, and was sculptured by Felix de Weldon

​The monument has seven figures. These figures symbolise leadership, suffering, unity, vigilance, strength , courage and sacrifice.

​The ceremony is held annually on Warrior's Day , 31st July to mark the nation's respect for the fallen heroes. The ceremony is attended by DYMM Yanh Di-Pertuan Agong, the Prime Minister, and the head of the Royal Malaysian Armed Force.
