​Get your guitar, stand and block

​Turn your iPad on

​Take your guitar out of your case, lay your case on the floor on your right side, lay your guitar on top of your case

​Quizizz

​We will use Quizizz a lot in class!

​Go to the link I'll put in the general channel of our TEAM

​Sign up with your SCHOOL email, Use your correct first and last name--NO made up names

​You should have a square labeled Performing Arts and it should have a red bell next to it. Click on that square. There should be a quiz called reviewing class procedures. Go through that quiz.

​Review Parts of the Guitar

​point to parts of the guitar and have students say name of that part

Holding the Guitar--show pics

​Left food elevated and resting on a block

​waist of guitar on left thigh

​body of guitar vertical and held close to body

​left hand--review finger numbers

• thumb in middle of the back of the neck

• ​left palm does not touch the neck

​Right arm and hand--teach finger letters PIMA

• ​right arm straight

• ​right wrist does not touch the body of guitar

​Mock Tab song practice using good posture and hand position

​Practice the songs you worked on last class for 5 minutes

concentrate on good playing position

​Have students play along with part of Horse with No Name playing Em for 4 beats and tapping or muted strumming for 4 beats

​Have students find the About Me sheet in their notebooks

​Watch the About Me videos and have students fill in the sheets

​Flip Grid Assignment

​Go to your assignments page and find the Assignment titled Holding Your Guitar Video

​The instructions tell you to Go to Flipgrid and record yourself holding the guitar correctly

​Things I am looking for:

• ​Can I see the whole guitar

• ​Is the image flipped

• ​Is your left leg raised

• ​Is your left hand correct--no thumb showing, plam is not touching the neck of the guitar

• ​Is your right hand correct--forearm is straight, wrist is not touching the guitar

​We are going to be using PowerPoint this year to make a portfolio of all you've done over the course of the year.
