Trật tự tính từ - The order of adjectives

​I. Định nghĩa Tính từ

​Tính từ là từ chỉ tính chất, đặc điểm của người hoặc vật hay sự việc,.. thường được dùng để bổ nghĩa cho danh từ hoặc đại từ.

Ví dụ:

- It is a good computer. (Đó là một cái máy vi tính tốt.)

- She has black eyes. (Cô ấy có đôi mắt màu đen)

II. Phân loại tính từ

​

​Có nhiều cách phân loại tính từ, dựa vào mục đích sử dụng ta có thể chia tính từ làm hai loại:

1. Tính từ miêu tả ý kiến, quan điểm chủ quan(opinion)

Ví dụ:

- She is very kind.

- She is a beautiful person.

-> Đây là ý kiến, quan điểm của người nói về đối tượng được nói đến. Đây chỉ là ý kiến chủ quan, mỗi người khác nhau sẽ có những nhận xét khác nhau về cùng một đối tượng.

​2. Tính từ miêu tả những đặc điểm thực tế (factual)

​

* Size (Kích cỡ): big, small, long, short,…

* Age (tuổi thọ): old, new, young, …

​* Shape (hình dạng): round, oval, square,…

​* Color (Màu sắc): yellow, black, white,…

​* Origin (Nguồn gốc): Japanese, French,…

​* Material (chất liệu): wooden, woollen, plastic…

​* Purpose (mục đích): walking (shoes), sleeping (bag),…

​III. Trật tự các tính từ

Ý kiến -> Kích thước -> Tuổi -> Hình dáng-> Màu sắc -> Nguồn gốc -> Chất liệu -> Mục đích

​​IV.Quy tắc viết trật tự tính từ trong câu

​Khi ta dùng 2 tính từ trở lên trước các danh từ:

• Nếu tính từ cùng loại trong trật tự tính từ, ta phân cách chúng bằng dấu phẩy (,) và tính từ cuối cùng sẽ đứng sau AND.

Ví dụ: This is a hard, complex and time consuming process. (Đây là nột quy trình khó, phức tạp và tốn thời gian.)

→ Các tính từ đều cùng loại OPINION (Quan điểm)

• Nếu tính từ khác loại trong trật tự tính từ, ta xếp chúng cạnh nhau mà không cần dùng dấu.

Ví dụ: This is a beautiful colorful Brazil buterfly. (Đây là một chú bướm Brazil xinh đẹp đầy màu sắc.)
