​Developments in cars

  • ​Car has become very popular because of its low costs and the building of roads and highways.

​Developments in trains

  • ​In the past, trains ran on steams. Now, trains run on electricity. High speed trains.

​Developments in aeroplanes

  • ​The Wright Brothers invented the first powered aircraft.

  • Passenger planes in the 20th and 21st centuries have become larger and more comfortable.

​Influence of the developments in transportation on us

  1. ​Transportation becomes widespread - Everyone uses some form of transportation, example: taxi, bus, motorboat, car.

  2. ​Science and technology become very important - To continue developing more efficient and better transportation.

  3. ​The world becomes more connected - For example, it takes only 2 hours to fly from Brunei to Singapore.

  4. ​The heavy widespread use of petrol in transportation has made Brunei prosperous - Brunei has oil and gas resources. Since vehicles use them to run, that makes other countries to buy oil and gas from Brunei.

  5. ​The development in transportation has resulted in globalisation - we are able to trade with other countries and go for holidays in other countries easily.

​How has Brunei benefited from exporting oil and gas resources

  1. ​Export earnings - Money from selling our oil and gas.

  2. ​Create Employment - By spending money to build more infrastructures, our government creating more jobs for Bruneian.

  3. ​Provide High living standard - For example, we have a good transportation system and satellite television channels in our homes.

  4. ​Trade opportunities - Conduct business with other countries which brings in money for Brunei.
