​Tobe am/is/ are => was/ were

• ​We/ they/ you + WERE

​REGULAR VERB - add ed

With most ​regular verbs, add -ed

• ​Watch => watched

• ​Play => played

• ​Talk => talked

• ​Cook => cooked

• ​Wait => waited

​If a regular verb ends in e, just add -d

• ​Like => liked

• ​Bake => baked

​​If a regular verb ends in y, drop the y and add - ied

• ​Cry => cryied

• ​Try => tried

• ​Study => studied

If a regular verb ends in an vowel and a single consonant,

double the consonant and add - ed

• ​Drop => dropped

• ​Stop => stopped
