​Procedure text is a text that explains or helps us how to make or use something.

​“The social purpose of procedure text is to show how something is done through sequence of steps which enable the reader to achieve the goal.”

​

​“The purpose of procedure text is to tell the reader how to do or make something through a sequence of actions or steps.”

​Struktur Teks ( Generic Structure ) Procedure Text

• Goals/Aim : berisikan tujuan dari suatu kegiatan atau hal yang akan di lakukan atau di buat nantinya.

• Materials/tools : berisis bahan-bahan atau alat-alat yang dibutuhkan dalam melakukan suatu hal . dalam procedure text materials bersifat opsional atau tidak selalu ada.

• Steps : Merupakan serangkaian langkah-langkah atau tips yang harus di lakukan.

• Conclusion/Result : Berisi hasil akhir dari apa yang telah di kerjakan sesuai dengan langkah-langkah yang di lakukan

​Ciri - ciri Procedure Text :

​

1.  Menggunakan kata tanya 'How' sebagai judul/awalan 

2.  Berisi langkah langkah yang dibuat poin-poin ( 1. ........., 2...... ) atau narasi (pertama, tuangkan....., selanjutnya.....)

3.  khusus procedure text untuk membuat makanan terdiri dari 2 bagian, bagian alat - alat/bahan (equipments/ingredients) dan langkah - langkah (Steps)

​Contoh procedure text

Ingredients:

• ​Tea bag or tea leaves

• ​ice cubs

• ​suger

• ​water

  ​Instructions:

  1. Boil the water

  2. Pour the water into the glass

  3. Steep tea

  4. Strain the tea if you used loose leaves, or remove the tea bags.

  5. Add sugar

  6. Add the ice cubes

  7. Serve and enjOY
