​What is imperative?

* We use imperative to give orders. (Ayat yang digunakan untuk memberi arahan).

* Usually, imperative sentences begin with verbs that tell order.

(Ayat imperative dimulakan dengan kata kerja yang memberi arahan/perintah)

* Examples :

  • Close the door now. (Tutup pintu itu sekarang.)

  • Walk quickly to your classroom. (Jalan dengan pantas ke kelas kamu.)

* ​We use do not / don't with the imperative to form the negative.

(Gunakan do not / don't untuk membina ayat negatif.)

* Examples :

  • Don't walk on the wet floor. (Jangan berjalan di lantai yang licin itu.)

  • Don't touch the hot kettle. (Jangan sentuh cerek yang panas itu.)
