Looking at the iterative process

2
Introduction to iterations
An iteration is a version of your outcome. It focuses on allowing the creator to present an improved version of the solution to their potential end users.
Completing your designs first is essential if you want to find success in the creation aspects of your website.
It is essential that you get feedback from stakeholders regularly in order to improve and develop a product which is fit for purpose.
3
Your design process
You should be planning and creating at the moment.
- In the design process, the designing section is mixed in with the 'create' section here because it is a practical aspect of the project and requires you to make improvements.
4
Multiple Choice
What stage of the process are you up to now, and what is the next step in the design process?
Inquiry project
Wireframes
Initial Designs
Final prototype
5
Open Ended
Thinking about your own project, what steps do you need to take, now that we are in lockdown, to ensure that you are able to test out your ideas effectively?
6
Some feedback questions
How do you make sure your ideas are able to communicate your message?
What are the different ways you can get feedback for your ideas?
How do you make sure your feedback is genuine and authentic?
7
Open Ended
What are the different methods you will use to gather feedback during lockdown, and how might this be an issue if lockdown continues indefinitely?
8
The prototyping process
You need to have a clear idea of what your wireframes are now and what you need to work on in terms of your initial designs.
Remember that you will be coding these designs and getting regular feedback for these.
9
Poll
Which of these creation and testing methods are you going to use when completing the prototyping and creation process?
Google forms and email feedback
Face-to-face feedback and testing of code
Peer and teacher feedback when it comes to my Trello board
Video and audio evidence of the testing of the different versions of the website
10
Poll
Which of the following coding languages am I going to use for my planned website?
HTML
CSS
Javascript
pHp and others
11
Website testing
As you can see here, there are multiple ways to test the website, all of which are valid.
What types of testing are required for your project? How are you going to make sure this is going to happen?
12
Open Ended
Looking at the image/graphic to the left, pick 3 types of testing and trialing and discuss how you will use these in your own project.
13
Relevant implications
Revisit the relevant implications we discussed at Level 2. What are some of the relevant implications which are relevant to website design, and how are you trying to address these issues in your project?
14
Open Ended
Picking 4-6 of these relevant implications, what are some of the ways you've tried to prevent potential issues from occuring?
15
Conclusion - next steps
You will be split into your groups and told to give each other feedback on some wireframes. Think about the following questions when giving feedback.
- What are the positive parts of my peers' initial wireframes and can I use these?
- What feedback am I providing? Is it useful for myself as well?
- Is my friend able to actually follow through with the feedforward I provide, or is it too difficult?
