​Welcome to the map scavenger hunt (online edition)! Here you will find answers to the scavenger hunt questions, but first -- let's take a look at why maps are so important!

​Throughout this course, you will use 3 different types of maps:

​1. Blank maps, 2. political maps, and 3. thematic maps.

​Political maps can show us things like the growth and collapse of empires, shifting political borders, and the names of dynasties and cities changing over time. ​

​Now let's look at thematic maps...
