Definition of a Procedural Text

• ​A text that explains how something works or how to use/ operate something e.g. manuals (how to use the computer/the rice cooker)

• ​A text that instructs how to do a particular activity e.g. recipes, rules of games, science experiments, road safety rules.

• ​A text that deals with human behavior e.g. how to live happily, how to succeed.

​Purpose of Procedural Text

• ​To explain/tell the reader how to make/operate/do something through a sequence of actions or steps.
