​I. Các loại so sánh trong Tiếng Anh:

​1. So sánh bằng: As + adj/adv + as

​ So sánh 2 vật, 2 người, có sự tương đồng về một tính chất, đặc điểm

​Ví dụ:

• - I’m as good in Maths as in science.

• - Harry sings as beautifully as a singer.

• - Her car runs as fast as a race car.

• - This dress is as expensive as yours.

• - This picture is as colorful as the one I have ever seen. 

Công thức so sánh bằng với danh từ:

S + V + the same + (noun) + as 

Ví dụ: 

- She takes the same course as her colleague.

- She speaks the same language as her father.

- I wore the same dress as my sister at her birthday party.

- Timmy has the same height as Tom.

- Their professor is different from ours.

Lưu ý: Trái nghĩa với với the same…as là different from.

​2. So sánh hơn trong tiếng Anh (với tính từ và trạng từ ngắn )

Công thức so sánh hơn:

S + V + (Adj/Adv) + “-er” + than

Ví dụ:

• Jennie’s grades are higher than her sister’s. 

• Today is colder than yesterday.

• My girlfriend came later than me.

• Lindy is shorter than her younger sister.

• My ruler is longer than yours.

2. So sánh hơn trong tiếng Anh (với tính từ và trạng từ dài )

Công thức so sánh hơn:

S + V + more + Adj/Adv + than

Ví dụ:

• He is a more professional soccer than me.

• He speaks Korean more fluently than his friend.

• She visits her family less frequently than I used to.

• This hat is more expensive than the others.

• My father drives more carefully than my brother.

rather more quickly (hơi nhanh hơn/nhanh hơn 1 chút)

a bit more sensible (nhạy cảm hơn 1 chút)

a little less expensive (rẻ hơn 1 chút)

​Chú ý: a lot > rather > a bit, a little

She looks no older than her daughter. (Cô ấy trông không già hơn con gái cô ấy tẹo nào.)

​Quite cũng không được dùng trong so sánh hơn, ngoại trừ trong các cụm như quite better (khá hơn/đỡ hơn 1 chút - khi nói về sức khỏe). Any, no, a bit và a lot thường không được dùng trước so sánh hơn khi có danh từ.Ví dụ:There are much/far nicer shops in the town center. (Có những cửa hàng đẹp hơn nhiều ở trong trung tâm thị trấn.)KHÔNG DÙNG: There are a bit nicer shops in the town center.

Ví dụ:There are much/far nicer shops in the town center. (Có những cửa hàng đẹp hơn nhiều ở trong trung tâm thị trấn.)

KHÔNG DÙNG: There are a bit nicer shops in the town center.

​3. So sánh nhất

-​My brother is the tallest in our family.

- Sunday is the coldest day of the month so far.

​- The most boring thing about English course is doing grammar exercises.

- Lisa is the most careful person I ever have known.

- Of all the students, she does the most quickly.

​Lưu ý: Có thể thêm “very, second third....., by far” trước cụm từ so sánh để mang ý nghĩa nhấn mạnh.
