Rotation of the Earth.
Rotate means to turn
The earth turns around a slightly inclined imaginary line that joins two poles called the axis.
The axis of the earth has anis titled at an angle 66.5 with its orbital plane. Days and night take place because of this rotation.
17
Definitions:
Axis: The earth turns around a slightly inclined imaginary line that joins two poles called the axis.
The circle of illumination: it is a circle that divides the day from night on the globe.
18
Day and Night:

Therefore, at a time that hemisphere of the earth that receives the sunlight experiences day. The other hemisphere away from the sun experience the night.
